Pier M33 On The Cheboygan welcomes back Chef Eric Wheeler! With 20 years of restaurant experience, Chef Eric returns to Pier M33 from the Country Club of Boyne where he spent the past four years as Sous Chef under Chef Dean Grill. Prior to that he spent 3+ years at Pier M33 working under Chef Richard Travis; Eric also previously ran his own food business and worked at a number of other local restaurants. We are glad to have Eric back and are excited to offer you his new creations!
Pier M33 was home to Chef Rich Travis since our opening June 2011. His experience included culinary training in France and several Michigan restaurants including: The Golden Mushroom in Southfield, Tapawingo in Ellsworth, Latitude in Bay Harbor, Tribute in Farmington Hills, and Forte in Birmingham. In June 2019, Chef Rich passed along the reins to Chef Paul Leonardi, with whom Rich worked side-by-side for 3 years helping guide Paul into the experienced chef he is today. His previous local experience included Mulligan’s and Hack-ma-tack. Chef Paul returned to Mulligan’s in October 2019 and welcomed friend and fellow chef, Eric Wheeler back to Pier M33.
